Course Description: This course will provide an overview of financial responsibilities of builders/business owners. Topics to be covered include financial considerations of a business plan, varying types of legal structures for business entities, payroll and payroll tax considerations, bookkeeping considerations and relevant accounting and reporting requirements.
10:30 am – 11:30 am Annual U.S. & Alabama Tax Update

Course Description: This course will give a practical overview of recent and impending tax rules affecting AL taxpayers. The class will cover the recently enacted AL pass through entity taxes for Partnerships and S-corporations as a work around for the SALT limitation. The course will also provide insights for recent and impending updates for those doing business in AL. Topics include net operating loss rules, meal expenses, COVID-19 legislations including employee retention credits and depreciation and how those affect both federal and AL taxes.

Course Description: This course will give insight as to understanding Erosion and Sediment Control for Construction and Post Construction Stormwater, why control is important and the processes and tools to manage these issues.

Course Description: This course will provide lessons and practical advice for builders when dealing with customers and subcontractors within the parameters of AL law. Topics include: contract provisions, ensuring payment, common construction mistakes and how to avoid them.
